Competition Terms and Conditions

  1. Eligibility: The competition is open to Australian school age participants. Participants under the age of 13 will have to get permission from their parents to participate in the competition.
  2. Registration: Participants must register online before the competition deadline. Registration requires parents to provide their name, email address, phone number, and their child’s name, school, and age.
  3. Entry Requirements: Participants must create and submit their own and original work. The story/animation must be developed in Scratch. Up to 5 photos can be submitted. Videos should be less than 4 minutes in length. All media should not contain any faces or attributes that identifies the participants.
  4. Submission Guidelines: The submission must be made using the instructions provided by the competition organizers.
  5. Judging Criteria: Entries will be judged on the basis of originality, creativity, technical complexity, usefulness, and potential impact. The judges' decision will be final and binding.
  6. Intellectual Property Rights: Participants retain all rights to their submissions. However, by entering the competition, participants grant the Australian Academy of Robotics and STEM Education the right to use, modify, and distribute their submissions for educational and promotional purposes.
  7. Prizes: The competition winners will receive prizes, certificates, and recognition on the Australian Academy of Robotics and STEM Education website and social media channels as well as other media outlets.
  8. Disclaimer: The Australian Academy of Robotics and STEM Education or the competition sponsors are not responsible for any errors, omissions, or technical problems that may arise during the competition. The Academy reserves the right to cancel or modify the competition if it becomes technically or financially unfeasible.
  9. Code of Conduct: Participants are expected to adhere to high standards of conduct throughout the competition. Any participant found to be engaging in unethical or illegal activities will be immediately disqualified from the competition.
  10. Parental Consent: Kids under the age of 13 will need to get permission from their parents or legal guardians to participate in the competition. Parents or legal guardians will also need to register their child for the competition and provide all necessary information.
  11. Privacy Policy: All personal information collected during the competition will be used solely for the purpose of administering the competition and will not be shared with any third party without the participant's or parent's consent.

    • No
  2. Can I enter in the coding competition more than once?
    • Yes
  3. Does my child need to have previous coding experience to participate?
    • No! We will cover the basics in our Scratch Coding Roadshow.
  4. What is the cost of participation?
    • Our STEM Competition and Roadshows are completely free!
  5. What is our intention?
    • Our intention is to promote the learning of Snowy Hydro and STEM Education in this competition, the selection of winners will be at the discretion of AARAS Education and Snowy Hydro.
